Part of an ongoing body of dance film work set in tight spaces, Cold Light Day places a duet dance on a rural dock in South Puget Sound. Made while Hanson was researching movement for her dance piece, 28 problems, Cold Light Day integrates vocabulary from that piece as well as movement choreographed in the early 1990s.
Lakebay Marina, where Cold Light Day was shot, is 60 miles southwest of Seattle and offers moorage, camping, live music, food, beer and wine.
